THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND: THE GOLDEN GIRLS MUSICAL PARODY

Seeking drag performers/actors to play the roles of Blanche, Dorothy, Sophia, Rose, and Ricky Martin.

Picture it! Miami Beach, where the beloved four ladies (Blanche, the sexy Southern Bell; Dorothy, the brainy New Yorker; Rose, the dimwitted Midwesterner; and Sophia, the wise cracking Italian) are sharing their peaceful golden years together…that is, until Guest Star, pop singer Ricky Martin moves next door. His loud, all night, salsa sessions are keeping the ladies from getting a good night’s sleep. What’s worse, they have to get up early and rehearse their act for the annual Shady Pines Retirement Home Talent Show! What ensues is a feud that can only end with one household taking home first place at the talent show.

What you need to know

1) Click here to signup for an audition appointment. Please be sure to pick the correct audition date that corresponds to the show you are auditioning for.

2) Prepare a 16-32 bar song performed as your favorite Golden Girl or Ricky Martin. You may be asked to cold read.

3) Please click here to fill out the electronic audition form prior to your audition. Please bring a copy of your headshot and resume or a listing of your experience to your audition appointment.

4) If you are unable to attend auditions, please send a video to squarefoottheatre@gmail.com and complete the online audition form by May 16.

Casting and Bullying Policy

At no point should any actor or potential actor bully, intimidate, or bulldoze the casting process. Actors understand that casting will reflect the Director and the theatre’s vision for the production. Unwelcoming behaviors at any point during the production process will result in immediate dismissal. We are a community theatre. ALL are welcome!
